Rahul seeks CBI probe into UP gang rape

Badaun (UP):  Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday demanded a CBI inquiry into the incidence of gang rape in Badaun, and said the honour of a girl has no price. “Justice, not compensation, is what is required,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi met the family of the two teen sisters from the district who were gang-raped.

Amid increasing outrage over the incident, the UP government has promised to set up a fast track court to punish the culprits. Of the seven accused in the case, five have been arrested, two still remain unidentified.

Among those taken in custody are two policemen, who have been booked for negligence of duty. The girl’s family alleges they had a larger role in the conspiracy.
