What helped his meteoric rise?

A man who has seen the darker side of life, he can turn an adversity into an opportunity. That sums up his political career and a high voltage campaign that led him to win a decisive mandate.  It is apparent that the voters overlooked the 2002 taint and banked on his development credentials and a youth icon promising a better future for millions.

Modi started out as a tea-seller in Ahmedabad bus station. He graduated from Delhi University and did his Masters in Political Science from Gujrat University

Modi was born in Vadnagar on 17 september, 1950.

  • He has been involved with the RSS since the age of 8. Eventually progressing in rank from a volunteer to a propagandist.
  • RSS assigned Modi to the BJP in 1985.
  • Sadhvi Ritambara, who was help responsible for bringing the country into communal discord during the Babri Masjid demolition was taught Gujrati by Modi.
  • Modi is a staunch conservative, his views extending to matters on women and family also.
  • The Tehelka Sting-Operation of 2007, which including numerous videos of top members of VHP, Bajrang Dal, RSS and BJP stating clearly that the genocide would not have been possible without the collaboration and complicity of the Police force and the Chief Minister. Many of the people were directly involved in the killing and some were charged using the videos as evidence. The operation and its results were authenticated by the CBI.
  • The myth of the ‘model state’ of Gujrat is evident from its financial reports. In 2013-14 Gujrat owes a debt of Rs 1.76 lakh crore, while paying a ridiculous interest of Rs 34.50 crore per day. By 2015-16 the debt will rise to Rs 2 lakh crore. Indicators of Human Development are very low in Gujrat.
