Snoopgate: Womans father moves SC

Date:

The father of the woman who is at the center of the snoop gate scandal involving Narendra Modi and his right hand man Amit Shah, has moved the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the plans of setting up a one-judge probe panel.

Declaring it as an invasion and violation of privacy, he asked the court to restrain the current government from setting up a commission to investigate the snooping scandal.

The SC has issued notices ordering the central and Gujrat government to keep the identity of the woman and her family protected.
The snoop gate scandal broke out in November 2013 when audio recordings of Amit Shah ordering for the illegal surveillance of a young woman in 2009, at Modi’s request, were leaked.
