Neemrana – 116 kms from Delhi
Located in the heart of the ‘golden triangle’. The 15th century Neemrana Fort-Palace is one of the most popular weekend getaways from Delhi as it lies on the 6-lane Delhi-Jaipur National Highway No.8. This 25 acre property with six acres of fortified palaces tiered over 12 levels, is a marvel to see and experience. Being a heritage monument-hotel where the walls tell the story of five and a half centuries, it makes for one of the quick weekend destinations near Delhi. Neemrana is best experienced overnight.

Durshet – 60 kms from Mumbai
If you thought that there are no forests near Mumbai then think again. Durshet is a forest patch filled with mango, mahua and teak trees. Stay at the Nature Trails Forest Lodge. Start your day watching tiger butterflies flitting around at the lodge’s garden and then wander off into the forest to identify calls of the parakeet and the bulbul. Animals like the barking deer, boars, monkeys and a wide variety of insects is sure to attract your attention as well. The farming land adjoining the lodge is also home lapwings. If birds and animals don’t appeal to you, then there is always rafting at the river Kundalika.

A beautiful tourist place near to Chennai is Yelagiri hill station.It is well known place for the tea estates. The Punganoorlake is famous in Yelagiri and is located at the center of the town. This lake was artificially created and maintained by the Yelagiri Hill Development and Tourism Promotion Board. People can view the Velavan temple and Jolarpet plains through the Paran telescope. The other attraction of this place is Jalagamparai water falls. It is considered to be therapeutic. You can even go for trekking through reserved forests.

Although its waves are considerably more gentle than those in Digha, do check the high tide timings before you begin your drive on the beach. The three best accommodation options here are Rose Valley, Debraj Beach Resort and The Sana Beach with a private sunbathing area on the beach.
