New Delhi: In a move to ensure a peaceful election in Mizoram, the Election Commission of India on Tuesday postponed the Lok Sabha polls till April 11. The state was all set to have polls on Wednesday, April 9.
Meanwhile, a 72 hour-long shutdown is on for the second day in the state. The shutdown is in protest against Bru polling in six refugee camps in Tripura and to urge EC not to count Bru votes that have been polled via postal ballot.
There were 26 critical polling stations which were identified and arrangements were made accordingly.Â
