New Delhi: Fearing a sabotage in Gujarat, Advani’s supporters have asked him to contest from Bhopal instead of Gandhinagar.
BJP’s in-fighting has come to the forefront in recent times, especially with Advani’s strong disapproval for the ‘one-man party’ BJP brewed by Narendra Modi. The claims of sabotage from within the party itself sends a clear message that the people are wary of Modi’s stronghold on Gujarat.
L K Advani’s political journey, spanning over three decades have seen many ups and downs. He changed the face of BJP when he became the president in 1986, but also left the post in 2009 after succumbing to numerous defeats at the elections.  He even resigned from all his posts in BJP in 2013 (later, withdrawing his resignation) following the appointment of Narendra Modi as the head of the electoral campaign, rueing that the BJP was no longer the “same idealistic party”.
The octogenarian has always aspired to become the prime minister, but his ambitions was once again squashed with the emergence of the Modi phenomenon. Party sources reveal Advani’s anger as rooting from him not being considered for the prime ministerial post.
The events leading up to this year’s Lok Sabha elections certainly marks his decline in the party’s current infrastructure.
