Polish bobsleigher Daniel Zalewski failed a drugs test during the Sochi Olympics, Poland’s national Olympic committee (PKOl) confirmed on Friday.
Zalewski tested positive for the stimulant phenethylamine on February 23, and both the A and B samples were positive, the PKOl said.
The Polish four-man team placed 27th in the overall standings at the Winter Games.
The PKOl are appealing the case before the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) and the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (FIBT).
Zalewski becomes the seventh competitor to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs during the Sochi Olympics.
