New Delhi: UPA II is facing its worst ever scam involving 22. 95 acres next to Raisina Hill. This deal compromising the security of the First Citizen of India was struck, ignoring intelligence warning. Urban Development Ministry permitted DLF’s high-rise residential project, worth Rs 10,000 crore, just a kilometre away from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The residential project by Edvert Keventers, a subsidiary of DLF, barely at a distance of 3.5 km from Parliament, was approved in December 2013.
The Intelligence Bureau had warned that terrorists could use a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher from this complex to target the President. Interestingly, only in 2012 this project was rejected by the Union government.
In 2011, the Delhi High Court barred DLF from building a high-rise residential complex near the presidential estate. Now CBI is probing the project approved by Urban Ministry.
