New Delhi: Election 2014 promises to be the most exciting election ever since Independence. Enter the common man, empowered and ready to knock down the Goliath. He once thought elections are all about the netas, but now he realises to his glee that elections are all about knocking down the netas. It’s going to be a free-for-all. Watch out the game. Â
BJP wants Kiran Bedi to knock down Arvind Kejriwal, BJP’s nemesis. AAP party men want Kejriwal to knock down Narendra Modi. But who gets knock down is the fun part of the election watch.
Addressing a rally at Kanpur’s Ram Lila Ground, Kejriwal said, when we left Delhi, we heard Modi ki badi hawa hai. I said let’s see. And we’ve met hundreds of people, there is no such thing. The Modi wave is a creation of the media, it’s a wave on TV.
I have been to 17 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in UP, and I saw no wave in favour of Modi. People are angry, they want change. Paid opinion polls are projecting a win for Narendra Modi. Modi isn’t replying to my letter, how will he answer people’s questions.
Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit West Bengal soon, said state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who dismissed the probability of an alliance with Trinamool Congress.
“He (Gandhi) has been interacting with the common man in other parts of the country so we have proposed that similar programmes be held in West Bengal as well. We have proposed to organise two programmes involving Gandhi – one in Kolkata and the other in north Bengal,” he added.
