New Delhi: The Bill that creates the new state of Telangana, bifurcating Andhra Pradesh, will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
To propitiate Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and other leaders, Congress has agreed to some of their demands. But the booming IT hub Hyderabad will not be made a Union Territory. It will be a shared capital for the next 10 years, but its revenue is unlikely to be divided, said sources.
The Union government is determined to push the legislation through this session of Parliament, which ends on February 21.
