Colombo: The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to unanimously reject the International Cricket Council’s revised working group proposals. According to an SLC statement reported by the Express Tribune, the executive committee convened a meeting of all stakeholders, including past captains, past presidents, secretaries of SLC and sports ministry representatives, and discussed the ICC proposals threadbare.
After the deliberations, the stakeholders were of the view as a full member of ICC, SLC needed to safeguard its current rights and privileges. Meanwhile, BCCI president N. Srinivasan has strongly defended India’s claim for a higher percentage of ICC’s global revenues.

Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, Srinivasan said the proposed restructure in the governing body of the game is aimed at providing financial stability to all members while making the body more inclusive.

BCCI is set to become the greatest beneficiary under the proposed revenue distribution plan, with its earning increasing to between 63 mln and $766 mln.
