Amidst the ongoing protest in JNU over Hotel fee hike, the social media is flooded with misinformation regarding the same.

Several posts are being shared online with current and proposed hostel fees listed on them.

Following the protests, Jawaharlal Nehru University Executive Council partially rollbacked the hostel fee increase.

In a press statement released on November 13, 2019, JNU administration rollbacked the Mess Advance to Rs 5,500, instead of Rs 12,000.’

The university also released a document named ‘Revised JNU Hostel Manual- Fact Sheet‘ to clear the air around the whole incident and provide more clarity on the matter. It contains the entire procedure of fee hike, from discussions to notices to final fee hike after partial rollback.
