Do we need ‘Sapoot’ or ‘Saboot’, asks PM Modi in Meerut

Date:

Meerut: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asserted that he led a ‘decisive’ government at the Centre in the last five years.

While addressing a rally in Meerut, PM Modi also claimed that he was confident that his government will form after the upcoming general elections as people have seen the positive changes in the country since 2014.

Praising the recent airstrike by the Indian Air Force at terror camps in Balakot (Pakistan) and Mission Shakti, he said, “Zameen ho, aasmaan ho ya phir antariskh, surgical strike ka saahas aapke is chowkidar ne dikhaya hai (This chowkidar has shown the courage to carry out surgical strike, be it on land, in the sky or space).”

He also targeted the previous regime at the Centre for just giving slogans and not taking the right decisions to ensure the safety and security of the nation.

The prime minister also took a swipe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after they criticized PM Modi announcement of the successful launch of an anti-satellite missile on Wednesday.

Subsequently, he also attacked the Opposition parties for seeking evidence from the government over airstrike by the Indian Air Force at Balakot in Pakistan. “Do we need sapoot (obedient son) or saboot (evidence),” he said.

From Meerut, PM Modi is scheduled to travel to Jammu and Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) to hold rallies. Meerut, Rudrapur and Jammu will go to polls in the first phase of the elections on April 11. The result will be announced on May 23.
