Heavy vehicles banned during peak hours in Noida

Noida: Traffic police enforced the ‘No Entry Order’  on Saturday under which heavy vehicles have been banned during peak hours in Noida city areas identified by the department.

“Fifteenth day of traffic month started with enforcement of ‘No Entry Order’ issued by SSP Gautam Buddha Nagar Preetinder Singh restricting heavy goods vehicles entering into the Noida city areas in the peak hours to facilitate the commuters and to enhance road safety. Around 45 vehicles were  challaned for violating no entry orders,” said Rajeev Narain Mishra, Superintendent of Police(traffic).

“Traffic team deputed for imparting awareness and education visited two more educational institutions Apeejay Public School and Modern Public School and educated more than 1,300 students about traffic rules and road safety,” said Mishra.

“Enforcement drive continued and focussed on violators who defy signal lights and drive wrong side. 67 were challaned for jumping red signal, 31 for over speeding, 298 for without seat belt, 43 for wrong side driving, 4 for triple riding, 3 faulty number plates, and Rs. 1,96,550 was realised and added to government exchequer,” he said.

“On November 13, traffic police challanced 1,534 vehicles and collected cash fine of Rs. 1,45,400. On November 14, the team challaned 1,369 vehicles and recovered cash fine of Rs. 1,62,250,” he said.
